All diving takes place from the large tender dhoni that follows Orion. One of the big advantages of dhoni diving is that your liveaboard is pure living space. Orion is fitted out with a vast dining room with bar and TV - ideal for mealtimes and briefings. On the upper deck you will find the Jacuzzi and even a massage room (paid locally subject to availability) and the main bar. Pull up a chair at the end of the day and chat over the day's diving delights with fellow divers. And of course, if you want to work on your tan during the day, there is massive and wide fly deck where you can soak up the rays and sail through the gorgeous atolls of the Maldives.

There are a further 4 double only cabins on the lower deck. Up on the sun deck level are the mini suites - these are the same as the lower deck cabins in terms of size but have the added sea view. There are not 1 but two suites as well for the ultimate on board upgrade. The junior cabin is below decks and with the full width of the boat to enjoy, there is plenty of space, a king sized bed and bath. The executive suite is on the upper deck with its own private Jacuzzi, king bad and bath. All of the cabins have air con, a plasma TV and spacious en suite bathrooms with some of the best showers you will experience!

Diving :

Paradise on earth is partial without its underwater realm, which makes the Maldives one of the most appealing dive destinations in the world. The Maldives is warm and fascinating, and provides rich marine life with coral reefs teaming with activity, visited by schools of fish and playful dolphins. With 26 atolls consisting of outer and inner reefs, The Maldives is one of the most diverse scuba diving destinations in the world. Amazing channel dives draw animals from the deep, which will leave you spellbound. Mountainous pinnacles (thila) rise from 35m and taper to 8m, which make them ideal for those slower, more relaxing dives.

The average water temperature is 27C (80F) and current can be strong at about 1.5 knots, which is ideal for shark and manta ray encounters. Fasten your seatbelts and glide into the blue for the most awe-inspiring experience of your life. Cruising on MV Orion is the ideal way to discover the magic that surrounds The Maldives. These thilas act like magnet for marine life and provide a spectacular change of scenery. Around some thilas and reefs are large coral rocks, that can used like compass points to direct divers away from the reef, perhaps to another and safely back home. There are many reefs inside the atolls, they are are often exposed at low tide and form the body of the atoll. They are restful sites, pretty to look at, and always available. Above the water is the vast collection of islands, reefs, and sand bars that make up this rich and historically unique nation. No diver can fail to be impressed by the formation of the islands and the way in which the people have adapted to them.
